As a kid, Davey dreamed of being an athlete but a sports
injury in grade 7 left him at home for several weeks where he started to teach
himself to play guitar. Influences were Stevie Wonder and "anything funky".
He quickly outgrew his first shitty guitar mostly due to the fact that it had a screw at the bridge which left his palm bleeding on many occasions. His next guitar was a '74 Ibanez Les Paul Goldtop. By the age of 14 he had learned the entire Van Halen debut album which included 'Eruption' of which he says: "The most important 1 minutes and 43 seconds ever."
Over the years his influences included, Genesis ("Firth of Fifth has most beautiful solo"), Rush ("Nothing beats La Villa Strangiato") and his favourite, Max Webster ("Kim Mitchell is best guitarist/songwriter"). Davey played in several bands throughout the 80's and 90's with Stevie Ray Vaughan as a huge influence. By around 1999 He used his creative energy for making websites and rarely touched the guitar. Seven years went by and then life changed and returned to going jam night all over Toronto. All the while he was wishing to do the Van Halen tribute thing. In late 2009, He got an email from a friend that led him to a posting on the internet of 5150, the Van Halen tribute looking for an 'Eddie'. Davey promises to bring all VH fans the most accurate representation of Eddie Van Halen he can.
Come see for yourself and experience what many have
already all across the country, that this is more than just a great tribute
band.
